Creating the Right Splash Page for YOU
Creating the Right Splash Page for YOU
By: Stephanie Reeder
I have always had a love for photography, but didn’t see it come alive until my son was born in 2007. I was like most first time parents wanting to capture every moment with their little ones. If you were to ask me back in 2007 if this is where I thought I would be, the answer would be HUH…Really? When I finally decided to take the leap into the professional industry, I had a lot of unknown concerns, but jumped in full of heart and ready to learn by not only teaching myself, but learning from others as well. My approach in wedding photography is to capture a couple’s story as they truly are. Very natural and in the moment would be the best words to describe my style. I feel the greatest success for me has been in the great relationships I have come to build with my clients. For me, it’s such a wonderful feeling to show up on their wedding day as good friends, so that when it comes to their images, they are open and comfortable with me capturing their story.
The greatest advice I could give someone looking to get into the wedding industry or photography for that matter would be to lead with your heart. If you put your heart into what you do and love; no matter what you produce will be beautiful. Secondly, don’t be afraid to learn something new. There are so many wonderful photographers that I have been lucky to network with and truly we are all here to support and learn from one another.
Creating a splash page and website that defines you and your personality is key to separating yourself from others. There are so many wonderful photographers out there with fabulous portfolios that it allows a lot of options for a client to choose from. The way to allow a client to choose you is simply by making your portfolio stand out amongst the rest!
