There has been a lot of buzz in the social media world about big changes coming to the Facebook platform.  A complete profile redesign that brings your past posts more to the forefront, a new “ticker” that changes how you see new updates, “gestures” instead of just liking something and more.  I’m going to run through a little more details to sum it up for you and give you my best guesses to when they are coming.

STAT:  Facebook has now hit 800 Million users adding about 50 million since July; and most are considered active.

As I pondered what I would write about this month, it struck me… technology!  The technology I use on a daily basis has made my job so much easier. From post processing, managing finances, sharing files, socializing, to having a web presence. All of these are intrinsic parts of running my businesses and managing my life on some level.

Have you ever watched a commercial or advertisement and said “Hey, that was pretty cool.  I need to try that!”?  Of course!  We’ve all done that before.  The power of video is second to none because it allows the viewer to sit back, be entertained, and have someone else tell them what to use and/or buy.  My favorite examples of this are the Old Spice commercials. The commercials are so clever and well done that it’s hard not to pick up a stick and try it out.  If this is true of commercial goods, like health products, why can’t it work for your business?

The good news is that video marketing, especially with high school seniors, can work for you!

I have some of the most exciting news to share with you for the future of the PhotoBiz blog!  We have teamed up with some incredible photographers that have committed to sharing their wealth of knowledge with other Photobizzers right here on the blog.  They will be sharing with you on all topics from lighting, product reviews, marketing, business strategy, and SO MUCH MORE!

In our new blog design, we’ve showcase them in a slideshow at the bottom.  We’ve also created a whole page that showcases each of these photographers with a bio and ways to connect with them online.  Our contributors page also allows you to click over and read each specific photographer’s articles.
