Mythical Ramla Bay – PhotoBiz’s Latest HTML5 Portfolio Site Design

Ramla Bay beach is wide and sandy, just like the broad design elements of our latest HTML5 Site design. Its’ particularly golden-reddish sand makes this beach quite unique from all others in Malta and the Mediterranean. A sandy path on the eastern hillside of Ramla Bay leads up to the world famous cave where, according to the tradition of Homer’s The Odyssey, the nymph Calypso lived.

Like Calypso of myth and legend you will be enchanted with the classic simplicity of Ramla Bay. Reminiscent of the Long Beach design a custom background can shine through the top and bottom of the design. A bit of Calypso magic comes into play with the image background color. Once you pick a background color, the two thick bars at either side of the design will display in a slightly darker value of that color. This helps give the design a sense of depth and strength.

Your logo will be appear at the top of the design, along with social media icons. The menu navigation is at the bottom of the design. PhotoBiz’s color-shifting technology can be applied to selected menu items, including drop-down menus that have a very nice “transparent ladder” effect.

As always we take particular care with the gallery pages because when it comes right down to it, a photographer’s website is really all about showing off your portfolio of work. Here the thumbnail images are vertically arrayed on the left side of the page. Take a close look and you will see that the thumbnail images stay “pinned” to the left side bar and carry over the transparent background theme of the dropdown menus. The thumbails also have a thick border that utilizes the same color-shifting technique as the broad vertical bars on the edges of the design. It’s a very nice accent.

If you are ready for a mythical website that can be seen anywhere, on any internet device then the Ramla Bay design for our HTML5 Portfolio Site is just for you.

Special thanks to Jeff Poole of indigosilver studio for sharing his images for the sample of PhotoBiz’s Ramla Bay HTML5 Portfolio Site design!

Shopper’s Paradise; Orchard Road Is Our Latest HTML5 Content Site Design

Once an area filled with nutmeg, pepper and fruit orchards, Orchard Road today is a magnet for tourists and shoppers alike. This colorful Singapore district boasts an extensive underground pedestrian walkway system connecting the various shopping malls. Filled with international luxury labels, Orchard Road offers a premier shopping experience for every taste and style.

This iconic shopping destination inspires our latest design. Orchard Road works beautifully for our HTML Content Sites, Blogs and E-Commerce tools for Photographers, as well as our Core Business Solutions and E-Commerce Solutions for Small Businesses. We’ve really taken the left side navigation feature of this design to a whole new level.

We’ve incorporated several features to give your website a true “Blue Ribbon” look:

    • Your navigation menu is incorporated into a tastefully designed graphic.
    • Plenty of space to showcase your logo.
    • Drop in a custom background to make your site uniquely yours.
    • Elegant accents underscore each of your items.
    • A bold stroke at the bottom completes each page with a dramatic flair.

With all the customization features this design offers, you have the recipe for an award-winning site!

We have a special treat for you on the gallery page! Take a look at the thumbnails: There’s a bold stroke above the selected thumbnail image for extra emphasis. We’ve been experimenting a little with our thumbnail display to make it look like a “miniature website”. Let us know what you think!

Orchard Road’s blog pages show how perfectly integrated our Core Business Solutions are. The bold stroke at the bottom of the design is reflected with the tabs bar at the top of the list area. Your individual posts also feature elegant accents to separate them.

The E-Commerce area for Orchard Road blends perfectly to give your customers a true “shopper’s paradise” experience.

Special thanks to Matt Andrews and Jill Miller for sharing their images for the sample of Orchard Road, which is now available in your HTML5 Content Site, E-Commerce, and Blog, as well as Core Business Solution, and E-Commerce Solution control panels. Make the switch today for free!

    New Font and Background

In addition, we have a great new font and background to share.

Miss Donna Regular. She is contemporary, powerful, versatile, curvy, sassy, and fun. This great font takes you into the world of movie posters, decor ads, and fashion with bold, clean, legible lines. This font is now available for our HTML5 Portfolio Sites, HTML5 Content Sites, Blogs, E-Commerce tools, Core Business Solutions, and E-Commerce Solutions.

Bathroom Tile. This transparent tile background is really versatile. It is naturally black and white, but you can apply a color instead of white to it. You can now use this background with our HTML5 Portfolio Sites, HTML5 Content Sites, Blogs, E-Commerce tools, Core Business Solutions, and E-Commerce Solutions.

Enjoy! We hope you have fun with this new design as well as the new font and background.

Feel the Love with Our New File Tab

We hope everyone is enjoying the additional space we added to everyone’s membership levels in January. As we announced last month, your membership plan is now based on the total number of files you have uploaded, rather than images. Therefore, every file counts as one, whether it is a JPG, PNG, MP3, or PDF.

To help you manage your files we have added a new “Files” tab to the control panel, in place of the music/PDF tab. There are three categories within this tab:

    • Music: This is where you can upload MP3s for playing in your Portfolio Site galleries.
    • Other: This is where JPG, PNG, and PDF files can be uploaded.
    • File Usage: This is where you can see how and where all your files are used within your site.

All of your previously uploaded files have been automatically sorted into the appropriate categories. You will also notice a new section on the “Other” area of the “Files” tab called “Your File Library” where you can see a listing of your files, labeled with the file type, and link which is a unique address for that specific file.

By adding specific file links you can really harness the added capabilities of our advanced text editors in our HTML5 Portfolio Sites, HTML5 Content Sites, Business Sites, and Blogs. Using the Text Editor in these products, you can embed files through the HTML code. This allows you to build tables and cells with embedded images to create practically any look you want. Admittedly working with code is not for everyone, however for those who are so inclined you can now embed files directly hosted by PhotoBiz.

If you are interested in exploring the opportunities that HTML code can provide or taking a refresher course on HTML coding check out our PhotoBiz Live webinar on YouTube. To learn more about HTML tables and coding, we also recommend these sites: Code Academy and W3 Schools.

Float Away With San Marino; Reproduced as an HTML5 Portfolio Site Design

We are very excited to re-introduce the newest addition to our rapidly expanding collection of HTML5 Portfolio Sites, San Marino. This design has been reproduced from FLASH so that our HTML5 Portfolio Site users can continue to enjoy this minimalist style template. It features an elegant double gradient that comes through on the background, and is loaded with the amazing arsenal of features that PhotoBiz provides with all designs, and fully customizable to match your unique branding and style.

    San Marino Home Page

Your images are surrounded with a simple “double border” that can use our color selecting technology. When you look closely at the images above and below, you will notice a thin white border surrounded by another color selected border. This is a very nice, subtle touch that adds a high impact presentation to your online presence. The exterior border color can change with and compliment each image if you choose to set up color shifting. As you explore the gallery pages in the San Marino design, you will notice the thumbnail images “float” above the background to the right of the main image. The thumbnail border is color coordinated with the page background, and with the thumbnails in place it is easy to see how well the double gradient effect enhances the overall appearance of the design.

    San Marino Gallery Page

Zooming into the navigation bar you will notice unique animation with drop down menus “floating” over the center images. As you roll over each menu item on the navigation bar, it changes colors to highlight that specific page. It’s a subtle touch that will give you the edge in presentation over your competition.

    San Marino Drop Down Menu

Widely described by clients as the most customizable and dynamic feature of PhotoBiz is the background, especially when complimented with our color selection feature.  You are able to upload any background whether it’s a textured JPG or a transparent PNG. If a JPG is used the “double gradient” effect is cancelled out but if a PNG is used , and you can create a totally unique viewing experience for your clients.

    San Marino Backgrounds

The San Marino design is now available in PhotoBiz’s HTML5 Portfolio Site control panels. Special thanks to Kimberly Kay of Philadelphia, PA for sharing her images for the sample of San Marino HTML5 Portfolio Site design!
