Beijing is one of the four great ancient capitals of China, and it has been the political center of China for centuries. The city is renowned for its lavish palaces, temples, and huge stonewalls and gates. And it is the inspiration for our newest FLASH Portfolio Site design.

As the FLASH animation unfolds watch your images build a “Great Wall” across this full screen design. Your photos are embellished with a semi-transparent reflection that can use our unique color picker technology for a stunning three-dimensional effect.

The central images are framed with the navigation menu bar at the top and the logo at the bottom of the page. The social media icons are displayed vertically in the upper left corner.

Scroll arrows, a counter, pause, and refresh buttons are featured directly above the center image panel. However, you won’t find thumbnails in the galleries of this design. To make your images look their best, we recommend sizing horizontal (landscape) images to 1500 pixels wide by 850 pixels tall to get the full “Wall” effect.

The information (text) pages continue the theme very cleverly. No matter what color you choose for the background, a medium dark and dark value of that color is automatically generated to complete the 3-D wall. For all of the information pages, vertically oriented images are best.

The latest customization elements are two new backgrounds and two new fonts!

Full Screen and Tile Backgrounds

We’ve added both a tile and a full screen design to the background bank. The tile design can be used for BizSites, Stores, and Blogs, and the full screen design can be used for those as well as our Portfolio Sites.  

The new full screen background is called “Flora and Fauna.” It’s elegant and whimsical, featuring a gradient from minty green/blue to light tan, overlaid with floral elements, and even some distressed areas to add some modern flair.

The tile background is a pattern that most people will instantly recognize, it’s a Houndstooth pattern. This pattern is really versatile. In fact it is a transparent tile, so you can use it as black and white, or black and any color of your choosing.

New Fonts for BizSites

In keeping with the grunge/modern flair theme of today’s newest design elements, we’ve added the font Metallophile Sp8. This is a faithful facsimile of a sans serif typeface as set on a 1940s vintage hot metal typesetting machine. The effect looks almost as if the texture of the paper is showing around it.

Our second addition to the BizSites Font Bank is from the other end of the design spectrum representing the tried and true. Koch Geometric Book is a beautifully refined Art Deco sans serif typeface. Its openness is perfect for use with minimalist designs.

With our latest Flash Portfolio Site design, we take a nostalgic look at the by-gone era of film, which naturally reminded us of the movie capital of the world, Hollywood. Reminiscent of an old design favorite “Darkroom,” you’ll love this modern adaptation of the filmstrip inspired classic design.

As big and bold as the movies, your images will be framed in an impressive graphic that features a transition from bottom to top that actually looks like the film is running. No other PhotoBiz Flash Portfolio design functions like this! In fact, it is so unique that you won’t need to use our famous “Transition Bank”.

The motion effect is reinforced by the the ability to see through the “film perforations” to the background, which has a beautiful gradient applied to the top and bottom edge to give it a rustic feel. If you choose to upload a custom background, make sure it is a transparent PNG file so that you can take full advantage of this effect.

When the animation is at rest the main image is centered in the filmstrip, with the lower edge of the preceding image shown at the top, and the upper edge of the following image displayed at the bottom. If a full frame 1500 x 865 pixel image is uploaded, it is perfectly framed by a colored border. Coupled with your logo at the top of the screen, and navigation bar at the bottom of the design boasts a stunning 3-D look.

The entire feel of the homepage slideshow is carried over to the gallery pages. While there are no thumbnails, there is a handy up and down arrow framing a counter to help people navigate through the slideshow.

PhotoBiz’s industry leading color-shifting technology can be applied to the background, navigation bar, and social media icons. Plus, for the first time the social media icons are vertically stacked in the upper left margin, a cool juxtaposition from the traditional horizontal alignment of the icons. And as always, a unique page loader graphic.
