With our latest Flash Portfolio Site design, we take a nostalgic look at the by-gone era of film, which naturally reminded us of the movie capital of the world, Hollywood. Reminiscent of an old design favorite “Darkroom,” you’ll love this modern adaptation of the filmstrip inspired classic design.

As big and bold as the movies, your images will be framed in an impressive graphic that features a transition from bottom to top that actually looks like the film is running. No other PhotoBiz Flash Portfolio design functions like this! In fact, it is so unique that you won’t need to use our famous “Transition Bank”.

The motion effect is reinforced by the the ability to see through the “film perforations” to the background, which has a beautiful gradient applied to the top and bottom edge to give it a rustic feel. If you choose to upload a custom background, make sure it is a transparent PNG file so that you can take full advantage of this effect.

When the animation is at rest the main image is centered in the filmstrip, with the lower edge of the preceding image shown at the top, and the upper edge of the following image displayed at the bottom. If a full frame 1500 x 865 pixel image is uploaded, it is perfectly framed by a colored border. Coupled with your logo at the top of the screen, and navigation bar at the bottom of the design boasts a stunning 3-D look.

The entire feel of the homepage slideshow is carried over to the gallery pages. While there are no thumbnails, there is a handy up and down arrow framing a counter to help people navigate through the slideshow.

PhotoBiz’s industry leading color-shifting technology can be applied to the background, navigation bar, and social media icons. Plus, for the first time the social media icons are vertically stacked in the upper left margin, a cool juxtaposition from the traditional horizontal alignment of the icons. And as always, a unique page loader graphic.

Delhi (not to be confused with New Delhi) is one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in the world. Delhi means “large hearted” or “daring” and that certainly applies to the newest addition of the PhotoBiz lineup of contemporary Flash designs.

The dazzling opening transitions is a PhotoBiz first intended to be for those of you who want to express a sense of fun and excitement. As you move around the site from image-to-image or page-to-page the screen literally sparkles with enthusiasm.

The “polka-dot” theme is continued through the top navigation bar drop down menus, which display dots flanking the text. Then as you make your way into the galleries, dots are vertically stacked in the right margin to show you where you are in the slideshow, plus if you roll your mouse over them a  thumbnail is shown.

PhotoBiz’s unique color shifting technology can be applied to menu items, thumbnail dots, and icons. With the dazzling Delhi design you select the color of the background and the dots are automatically set to a lighter shade of that color.

Each and every PhotoBiz template offers a unique loading symbol. Below is the symbol for Delhi. And as always, all of the colors shown in the example are fully customizable.

South Street is a very clean design that has a distinctively modern appeal. You’ll love the elegant open frame, and the tab-based approach has a definite sense of youthful style.

The Store design sample features a simple ruled-line at the top and bottom of the frame and there are no borders to constrain your images. The “rollover” tabs give the navigation bar order and depth. Our new color scheme “Black and Yellow” illustrates this particularly well on an “Events” or “Products” page. You can mouse over either the image or the tab to really see the page come alive.

The South Street Blog sample design carries this theme just a bit further. The page name is prominently shown in a color-coordinated bar above your images and has a rollover effect with the subtlest of hairline borders, just like the main navigation.

It has been a momentous couple of weeks for PhotoBiz with the launch of BizSites and the cool new Registrations tool. That’s not all – we have a few more updates just for you. We’ve updated the settings for social media icons to give you more options and we have created a new library of Header Backgrounds (previously called logo backgrounds).

Social Media Icons: New Color and Size Choices

We know how important your social media icons are so we are happy to offer this free upgrade. From your Site Builder Settings and your Icons Settings you will now see that you have a couple of nice new choices. They are as straightforward as can be, icons can now be displayed in their original color or in grayscale and we have added a new size. In addition to the original 16 X16 pixels (small), you can now also display your social media icons at 24 X 24 pixels (medium). The choice is yours!

Backgrounds: More Options

The settings for Backgrounds have also been refined. Five new beautiful and unique Site Backgrounds are available expanding the background library to 27 Tiled Backgrounds and 19 Full Page Backgrounds.

In addition, managing the Background Settings has been expanded to include a new Header Background Image Selection (this area was previously called the logo background). This new setting controls the background area of the logo section of your site. It has access to all of the Tile Background images in our library, PLUS 8 all new Full Header Backgrounds.

Using this great new PhotoBiz tool you can take advantage of customizable registration forms, attendee tracking, and digital downloads of event materials.

You will find this powerful new marketing tool on your Store Extras page. Once purchased you will have instant access to the Registrations tool under your Marketplace icon (found under the Store tab).

Once on the Registrations page, to get the ball rolling you click “Add Registration”. In this particular example, below, the specific name of the event is Summer Workshop. As you can see in addition to uploading images, writing a description of the event, and a thank you message, you can set the maximum number of attendees, expiration date for registration, and your price for the event. Structurally this is very much like using the Packages feature of the Store.

You can also organize events into categories, to get started simply click on “Add Category”, and then drag-and-drop the events into the appropriate category. There can be as many Categories as you need, anything that you would want to set up a registration for be it workshops, conferences, or social events.

After setting up the registration several new buttons will appear. By far the most important will be the Form button. You will find a basic form is built by default, and you can customize it to your needs. Dropdown menus, radio selection buttons, and check boxes can all be added to make your form unique. Along with the Form button there are the Attendees and Quantities buttons. The Attendees button allows you to keep track of the number of people signing up and generates a full report that can be exported as a CSV file. The Quantities button allows you to edit or modify fields with limited quantities for a registration form.

 Another extremely valuable aspect of these customizable forms is the ability to create and manage the seats available not only for the event as a whole, but also for individual breakout sessions, such as in the example below.

As you can see the registration forms are fully integrated with your Store for a completely professional looking presentation. Incorporating the Registration tool to your Store is as easy as adding any other page. After purchasing Registrations, use your Site Builder to add the Registrations page from the drop down menu. The Details and Layout tabs set the appearance of how it looks online.
