Mini Sites: Applied to Weddings

As a business person, there are many ways to use and market these mini sites to benefit your business. Today, I want to focus on Wedding Photographers and throw some ideas around that can be applied to marketing these mini sites. To get a good idea of what they are, refer back to our previous article on Mini-Sites.

How do you offer this to your customers?

1) Add them to your packages AND/OR sell them as an add-on.

• For example: If you have a Bronze, Silver, and Gold package; you could include this in your Gold package and offer it as an add-on to the others for an extra charge.
• Another way that you could set it up is to offer different levels of this product for each package. In the same scenario of a Bronze, Silver, and Gold Packages; Bronze could have a mini-site that has 15 photos and is online for 3 months while the Gold will have 50 photos and stay online for 1 year. You can also choose to build this site for them in the Gold package. Remember, you choose the number of photos that go towards this mini-site and the length of time that it stays online. These are two variables that you can change to determine your pricing and which package to attach it to.

How do you Market these to future & current customers?

There are a couple of ways that we have in mind for you to market these mini-sites for your weddings. If you are using these mini sites, be sure to leave a comment and let us know how you are using and marketing them.
1) Express the value that you are adding for them.

• You are giving your customers a whole website that is dedicated to their special event. This will present the story of how they met including pictures of them in a dynamic flash design.

2) Express the convenience that you are giving them.

• This is going to be a great place for them to send all of their family and friends before and after their special day. Before the wedding, all of the family and friends will be able to see where the couple have their gift registry at and link directly to it. They will also be able to RSVP with the Guest Book. After the event, everyone will already know of the website so that they can return to buy pictures. The wedding will be hectic enough for the bride and groom, this will make everything a lot easier!

There are 4 great advantages for the photographer when you add these mini-sites to the products that you offer to your customers.

• Uniqueness: You will most likely be the first in your industry to offer anything like this for your customers.
• Added Value: Your customers will love the added convenience and value that you are giving them for their wedding day. Who else can say that they had a website for their wedding day?
• Profit: This will increase the amount of people that are aware of the online proofing/viewing that you provide. Adding this convenience for the friends and family of the wedding couple will send more people to your mini-sites and eventually your shopping cart. This should result in you seeing an increase in orders!
• Brand Recognition: Every Mini-Site that you create will have your logo on it increasing your visibility. People are always looking for something unique. These mini sites give you the opportunity to expand your brand, style, and uniqueness to the family and friends of all of your clients.
