Smart Light Box
PhotoBiz is so excited to announce the release of a one of a kind new feature that will blow you away! This feature cannot be done with any other template system in our industry. In fact, if you want to do something like what we are doing, it would require extensive coding knowledge and quite a bit of money!
What does it look like?
Our new light box is a beautiful overlay on top of your PhotoBiz website. As it displays right on top of your website, users can tell that they have not left your site and they can still see your moving photos transition in an opaque view throughout the background.
What can it do?
What can’t you do is probably a better question. You can have absolutely any link, video, website, contact form, social network, slideshow, or anything else online imaginable, appear directly on your website! This feature is available under ANY menu item with your PhotoBiz Flash and/or HTML website!
Are you on Facebook? Instead of just a link to your page, how would you like to bring Facebook to your Website?
Do you Blog? How powerful would it be if your customers can view and interact on your blog while they are still on your website?
A simple link to Twitter is never enough! Your customers want to know what you are doing! Bring the power of your twitter updates directly to your website with a number of Twitter widgets!

How Customizable is it?
You are given complete control over the size of this “Smart Light Box”. Simply insert the size you would like it to appear and it will automatically be centered over your website. If the color customization is something you are worried about, there’s nothing to worry about with PhotoBiz! All of the colors that you see on this embedded page can be 100% customized with our enhanced color picker! Further customization includes a new roll-over caption feature is enabled on each embedded content page so that you can give a little bit more information to your viewers. Colors and fonts choices again come in abundance. Lastly, you can choose to disable background music from your website or not. PhotoBiz is the King in giving you fully customizable features!
Where do I begin?
Now that you are excited to start using it, remember that as a PhotoBiz customer; there are no upgrade fees are hassles to add this feature. As PhotoBiz is the only web template company that is truly cloud computing, this feature is already enabled in your web based drag and drop control panel and ready to use. Here are some screen shot to point you in the right direction.
Step 1 is to add an External link in the “Web Pages” section of your control panel.
Step 2 This External Link is added to the bottom left. Simply click on it to start your customizations.

***There is a known Security measure in place with using the Facebook Page (Not Widget or Fan Badge) and Twitter Pages (Not Widgets) that may prevent optimal use of this feaure. We are recommending that you use the Facebook Fan Badge and Twitter Widgets for best results.***

I'm trying to set this up with my facebook page. It still wants to open in a new window. Not sure what to do. Also, how do you customize the color?

That said, I wish that PhotoBiz would address some of the basic functionality that we have been asking for rather than continuing to add these flashy new features. We need an image library so that we don't have to duplicate uploads in the various sections of the site. There needs to be a way to order images directly from the proofing section rather than the cumbersome method of having to switch to the Photobiz Cart.
While I love this new stuff, the basic enhancements that other web hosts already have would be even better!
WOW! That was so easy and it looks great! I have received a TON of business from people joining my facebook fanpage. This makes the link between my website and facebook much cooler and easier! Great job!

Hi, ok, got the twitter and facebook lightboxes running, but when i link my blog via lightbox it starts in the lightbox but then jumps to the full site. Any advice? love this feature and PB so far!

Guys I'm looking forward to the day that our website's are embedded with photo shop as this type idea make's work flow go by quicker just form editing photography's.
I love this application. It has allowed me to place my blog on my site and not have my viewers leaving the space. The only problem I have noticed is that if I am viewing my site in Full Screen Mode, the lightbox opens behind it and you are not able to access the box without clicking out of full screen mode. If my clients are viewing my site they may not even notice the lightbox until they leave the site... and they may do so sooner if they assume the link is not working.
Otherwise, I think the lightboxes are going to revolutionize my website by giving me the ability to combine all of my social networking tools directly with my main site. No more directing clients to a list of links!
I'm thinking about using it to show my Zenfolio galleries (although, I've just learned that PB is offering client hosting and I'll have to look into that). I like the blog idea, and since I don't really tweet or FB, I'll have to be creative to get the most out of it.

@Molax- This feature does currently work with the existing embedded page. Feel free to call our team for any assistance. We are looking into giving you the flexibility to choose the transparency in the backend.
I managed to get rolling with the live chat in 20 minutes - it was seriously that easy!! Within minutes of publishing my updated site, I had 2 "potential" clients asking me questions about my services via the live chat --- and both booked! The only problem... I may never leave my computer now! Guess I'll have to look into the mobile option mentioned in another post!

Would be great to have this feature on the existing embed pages. Or an option to fade the transparency of the holding background for the content. I like the list page it creates in the current embed section, but a glass overlay of content would be great! :)
George - That's sounds like a great concept of integrating the ordering into your portfolio website. Currently, the images on your PhotoBiz website are not capable of linking to anything, however, I will suggest it as an idea to implement for the future shopping cart to be released this year. Nice feature! Works great! Can this be adapted as a link within a specific image? Say I have an image on my site, and would like to link to the page where someone can buy the image. I do that easily on the home page, but can we do that on each individual image? That'd be a huge feature, it would allow us to integrate the purchase process very nicely.
Absolutely loving this!! I was just admiring a site that had embedded lightboxes, wishing I had that capability. Two days later, Photobiz responds!
It seems to work great except for the twitter link.
Putting it in its own lightbox, it still opens up in a separate window and you get out of your site.

Is there a way to imbed a link into the external link?? In other words create a link called "social networks" and then have sublinks that open in lightbox for facebook, twitter, blog, etc. ?
Never mind I figured it out myself!
Create a drop down menu - call it social networking, etc
add external links (multiple times) and modify as need be.

I added a twitter link to my site with the light box. It looks cool but I did have a question, Everytime I click on the link, the lightbox shows up the takes me to my twitter page, leaving my site. Is this supposed to do this?

yes, how does the chat feature works ?
@Brandy- You can embed virtually anything into your PhotoBiz website. Chat features like "LivePerson" give you embedded script code. Now, I believe they are a little bit expensive, there are probably a number of chat functions that can be embedded.
Also, I would recommend going mobile with a smart phone and getting push notifications through IM+, Meebo, or a number of mobile chat applications. Then you can chat with potential clients virtually anywhere!

Hi there!
I gave this a try because it seems just fabulous. It does come up as the lightbox window however there is no facebook content. At the top of the lightbox is the Facebook icon and under it is says "go to facebook page". Of course when you click that it takes you away from the website.
Any help?
