Customize your look with a Transparent Logo

Everyone wants a custom look without the custom price, right?  Well here at PhotoBiz, we are always striving to take your suggestions and make improvements.

**We’ve created one of the most advanced color pickers that allows you to completely customize the color scheme.

  • **You have the ability to switch template layouts with one click of the mouse and no additional cost.  This is something that nobody else can offer you.

Among many other great features, we’d like to point out another really great feature that allows you to customize your look with a transparent logo.

Rather than just uploading a .JPG, which is a flattened image, we allow you to upload a .PNG.  This allows you to easily change background colors, text, and complete logo designs very easily.  Another feature that we are able to give you with this is that you determine the level of transparency with your logo.  Anywhere from 1-100%, where 100% makes your logo visible at all times and 1% makes your logo completely disappear.  What good is a website that you can change if the logo is not changeable?  We try to make everything very easy!  In fact, here is a great tutorial showing you how to create a .PNG file in Photoshop made by one of our very own Pros!

The advantage of using a .PNG file extension is that .PNG files support transparency while .JPG files do not. The purpose of this tutorial is to show you how to create a transparent background so that no matter what template you wish to use you do not have to worry about trying to match your logo background with the color of your templates background. Before we added the ability to use .PNG files you would have to match your background color of you logo with the background of the template you were using.

Step 1: The easiest way to create a transparent logo is to create a new file in Photoshop by selecting File, New in this dialog box use the width and height we recommend for your template. Be sure that the dimension type is in pixels, use 300 for the dpi and the contents is Transparent.

Step 2:  Now that we have the layout setup you can now create your logo. The key is to keep the background transparent by not adding a background color. Once you have finished creating your logo select File, Save as Photoshop (.PSD, PDD) from the format dropdown. This will keep your logo in the Photoshop default so you can go back if needed and make change to the original logo.

(If you skip this step and just save your logo as a .PNG file it will be flattened and you will not be able to easily make changes such as changing text and logo colors)

Step 3:  Now you can save your logo as a .PNG file by selecting File, Save As and selecting .PNG from the format dropdown. Now you have a transparent logo as well as your original logo files.

To upload your logo in your “Flash/HTML” control panel
Select “Settings” then select “Logo Upload” click the second option “Original format (PNG, JPG)” this will allow you to upload your .PNG file.

As a company that is very focused on its customers and their business needs, our ears are always open to new features.  We hope that this transparent logo feature gives you a more customized look and that this tutorial will help you create one for your business.  Big thanks to Douglas W. who created this tutorial for you all!
