“I had a client tell me they hired me because of how professional my website looked,” shared Audrey Bolt of Bolt Photography. That’s music to our ears! Audrey has been taking photos since she was around 12 years old. She recalls taking her parents’ camera and having her sister model.
“I remember having her stand on buckets, throwing leaves at her, and trying my best to sound like all those photographers on TV. My parents have so many photos of my little sister and so few of me during this time,” she shared. “Photography was everything to me until I was told I couldn't make any money from it and it needed to be a hobby.”
Audrey initially walked away from photography and went into advertising. But when she met her husband, that all changed. He asked what her dream job would be, and when she said photography, “he encouraged me to go for it and he would support me in any way he could,” she recalled.
Bolt Photography specializes in newborn, milestone, cake smashes, and family photography in the Norman, Oklahoma area. “My favorite type of photography is cake smashes. I love designing the sets, watching the birthday kiddos personality take over the session, and the cake-covered hugs are the best,” she says.
Audrey says a client once described her style as dark and moody, and she loves that description. “I love to play with lights and shadows.” And Audrey says if there’s one thing she wishes she knew when she first started out, it’s “not to go cheap when it comes to props and lighting.”
Audrey has been using PhotoBiz for more than a decade and says PhotoBiz has helped her business grow. “It is so easy to use PhotoBiz. I love that I can just use a template or go off and create my own look.” She says her website is easy to tailor to her vision and the process is “simple.”

When asked if she could photograph anyone from any time period who it would be, she selected “Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald and the 1920s.” Audrey admits she has an obsession with the Fitzgeralds and “would love to be the personal photographer of the Fitzgeralds.”
