If you get the blog newsletter, you’ll notice a slick new design! Not only did the newsletter get a major facelift, it’s made with our very own Email Builder!
Pretty sweet, huh?
But it’s not all glitz and glamor that convinced us to make the move.
We’d been planning to jump over to our own system ever since the new email builder launched. After all, why use a 3rd party when you can have everything together? It’s a concept we’ve been preaching forever.
And we loved MailChimp! But we *were* discovering some pretty major compatibility issues.
Our emails weren’t always responsive. Mobile compatibility is *super* important to us. Also, if you clicked on a link in MailChimp, our articles loaded without images! And there were some accidental sends that confused customers :(
We were a little anxious to make the move, but it was actually really easy.
First we exported our lists in MailChimp and uploaded them in the Contact Manager. We also put a new signup form on our blog, so people can subscribe to our new list.
Then, we built out a few design ideas to test the bounds of what was possible. We ended up with some really great designs – better than what MailChimp offered! And it took less time to design these campaigns, too.
With new templates in hand, all that was left was to write some articles and pop them into the newsletter. Write up a subject line, test and send!
Next week, all we'll have to do is use one of our templates to send another great email.
