Wow, what an event! On February 1, 2023, we hosted our 3rd annual PhotoBiz MasterClass. We loved having people watch live, and we’re so happy to share highlights from this year's program.
What excites us about this event is the opportunity to help people through free education about a sometimes overlooked aspect of being a photographer. Hey, we get it; marketing isn’t always top of mind. As photographers, your focus is on your art, including knowing how to light, shoot, and edit. Having an online business strategy is important too! That’s where the PhotoBiz MasterClass comes in.

Selling digitally

One topic that attendees took an interest in was selling digitally. While they knew they could sell digital images, they had a eureka moment when they realized they could set up other digital products and files to sell online. This includes assets like PNG, SVG, and AI files, plus PDF guides and much more. You can sell a variety of digital files directly from the PhotoBiz platform. For many users who sell more than their photography, this can be huge. It cuts out the need for Etsy or other online marketplaces that require a number of fees. By selling online with no commission fees using the PhotoBiz platform, you can earn more.

A big part of the web today is SEO strategy and getting found. For most photographers, the idea of writing can feel taboo, “Me write?” Yes! Words are valuable. Your website needs more than your portfolio of images. Yes, having photos is important, but words will help search engines identify your website as an option when people search for a photographer in your area. Strong, well-written content that complements your images can help you get found.
Building an investment page in different ways can be effective

Something that surprised our attendees was how many different ways you could set up an investment page. It’s important that it fits your workflow. You can feature an on-page scheduler or a lead generation form that can send visitors to hidden pages with targeted content, such as pricing or product information. There are so many ways to achieve the results you are seeking while also collecting information that will allow you to remarket and build relationships with your website visitors. This adaptability is the true power of the PhotoBiz platform!
