The PhotoBiz Website Builder got some extra love this month with the release of several new features and enhancements. Here is a summary of new releases from throughout May 2023.
Website Builder: Updated column options
Images and list block items used on website pages now have new layout options. What’s new is the number of columns where images and list block items can be displayed. You can choose to have 1–5 columns.
Website Builder: Restore deleted pages
You know that moment of panic when you delete something and realize you still need it? We’ve been there. You can rest easy knowing that if you delete a page of your website, it goes into a deleted pages area that stores the last 15 pages deleted. And there is an option to restore those pages.
Website Builder: Hide header and/or footer
Your website header and footer are important parts of your website, but when creating landing pages you may want them to look a little different or not display at all. That’s where the new option to not display your header and/or footer on specific pages of your website can come in handy.
Website Builder: Text wrap
Text + image blocks in the PhotoBiz Website Builder have historically displayed an image in one column and text in another. With the release of a new “text wrap” option, now if your text is longer than your image is tall, you have the option to style the block and have the text wrap around the image.
Proofing is now Client Galleries
Sharing and selling images online is important for a photographer. That’s exactly what our Client Galleries tool is for. You may know it as Proofing. As the photography industry has changed over time, the term Proofing isn’t used as much anymore. We found that the name Proofing has made some people scratch their heads and wonder what it was. So we changed it to Client Galleries.
Please be patient with us as we update the name in our blog posts and support articles. We are on it! But you may still find the name Proofing in a few places.
SEO Enhancement: Canonical URLs
Being found online is the goal of search engine optimization (SEO). If a search engine sees the same content being accessed from different URLs, it may consider it duplicate content, which it doesn’t like. To make it easier for search engines to differentiate between content suspected as duplicates, we recently added a canonical HTML tag to the header of all website pages. This tag helps inform search engines what the primary URL is and instructs it to only index that URL. Gone is the suspicion of duplicate content. There’s nothing you need to do, we’ve handled it!
Control panel: Look + feel updates
In March, we launched a new version of Photobiz.com, built on our own platform. This month we released a new look and feel for the control panel. When you log into your account, you’ll see new colors and fonts. The same great tools you know and love are still there to power your business.
